We’re back for another week! Sorry for the late upload, it’s the end of the semester and things has gotten real busy. Regardless, here’s my REPORT for the week of April 8th!

Reading – World News

Another week, more time spent with Antonio Gramsci’s Prison Notebooks sitting on my desk. I borrowed the book from my professor for Black Masculinities over a week ago and still have not touched it. Seems like that is an objective for the summer with our last class session being this Thursday. But, I have been keeping up with the news! Here’s a couple of articles I liked;

Forever chemicals to be removed from tap water
Bird Flu in cattle

Some real crazy stuff gonna be honest, I knew microplastics and forever chemicals existed in our water supplies but it practically infests all our commodities. Bird flu in dairy cows is on the rise, I am personally going to stick to oat milk.

Eating – Teriyaki Steak and Curry Chicken

One thing I am consistent on is getting a good meal every week. The two I want to highlight are from a food truck and then THE lovely Roy Antoine (I will miss your cooking (he’s graduating )).

Playing – Slay the Spire and Wild Rift

Nothing ever changes for me, I am playing the same games every week. I had a magnificent run with Silent on Ascension 2 but forgot to grab the green key and fight the Heart. Very upsetting, but it is my fault for dodging the burning elite. Wild Rift just had a massive update, adding in Kallista and adjusting a bunch of items for this new ranked season (I am unfortunately Platinum III again).

Observing – Fairy Tail & Mushoku Tensei

I just finished up the Tower of Heaven Arc in Fairy Tail and Season 2 Cour 2 of Mushoku Tensei is back! Fairy Tail has been a comforting rewatch and I started mainly to burn time until the seasonal anime that I like comes back, which is right now. Im on volume 15 of the light novel for Mushoku Tensei so I already know everything that is going to happen and I am ready to say the least.

Recommending – Burning Desire by MIKE

Another spectacular album, my personal favorite from 2023. MIKE is an abstract hip-hop artist from New York and I only started truly getting into him recently, despite listening to his cult classics (Weight of the World, May God Bless Your Hustle) back in early 2022. The tracks Burning Desire exude more creativity than the amazing album cover, a spectacle that I love. Everything about this is great and I highly suggest you listen to MIKE 🙂
Top Songs: plz dont cut my wings (ft. Earl Sweatshirt), African Sex Freak Fantasy, Snake Charm, U Think Maybe? (ft. Liv.e and Venna)

Thoughts

It was a solid week, my roommate Spencer crossed and became a part of the Iota Kappa chapter of Phi Beta Sigma and I’m super proud of him. Nothing much else went on.

Overall, a decent week with Saturday being a bit of a standout day. 7/10, the weather was nice most of the time.
