Today, I found a book that was inscribed by my AP Gov teacher from high school. It read, “For Mia… You might have been my most dedicated student ever…Remember me when you are an important layer one day!” His words brought tears to my eyes; I felt so seen. It also reminded me of my goals and what I hope to achieve one day. These past couple of years, I have felt unmotivated and burned out; I found myself putting in less energy than I would have liked. I would get by doing the bare minimum, and I did not want to continue living this way. I want to do my very best in every area of my life. I want to push myself, I want to put in the effort, and most importantly, I want to succeed. This year, I strive to be consistent, to put in the effort, and to pave the way for my dreams. I am pouring into myself this year and focusing on growing and evolving. Dedicated… That is the word he used to describe me. I will let this word be the fuel that pushes me to be the greatest version of myself.
